Accessibility

Our commitment

COMIS (the Hotel Social Engine platform at comis.in) is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of how we design the product, not an afterthought — and it is an ongoing effort we keep improving.

Standard we aim for

We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities — visual, motor, auditory, and cognitive. We treat AA as our target rather than a finished, certified claim: parts of the product already meet it, and others are still being brought up to it.

What we do

  • Use semantic, structured HTML so screen readers can navigate headings, lists and forms.
  • Support keyboard-only use for the core flows, with visible focus indicators.
  • Design for colour-contrast and avoid conveying meaning by colour alone.
  • Build mobile-first, responsive layouts that reflow rather than requiring horizontal scrolling.
  • Provide text labels for interactive controls and meaningful alternative text where images carry information.
  • Review new and changed screens against these principles as part of our design process.

Known limitations

We are honest about where we are not there yet. Some areas may not fully meet AA at this time, including:

  • Generated social content and previews. Posts render in each hotel's own brand style; alternative text on generated imagery may be incomplete.
  • Third-party embeds. Content served by external providers (e.g. payment or social platforms) is outside our direct control.
  • Some complex interactions (drag-and-drop scheduling, rich charts) are still being improved for assistive technologies.

We are actively working to close these gaps.

Tell us about a problem

If you run into an accessibility barrier — or need information from COMIS in a different format — please tell us and we will help. Email support@comis.in (or use our contact page). Please describe the page or feature, what went wrong, and the browser or assistive technology you were using — it helps us fix it faster. We aim to respond within a few working days.
